Workshop on Ethics and Law in Pharmacy Practice – Case-Based Dialogue on Expanding Roles in Primary

About the Workshop

This workshop is designed to enhance pharmacists’ understanding and practical application of core ethical principles and the legal frameworks governing pharmacy practice in Hong Kong. Key ordinances, principles of medical ethics and the Code of Professional Conduct will be reviewed with a focus on their impact in primary healthcare settings. Participants will develop a critical awareness of the interaction between law and ethics, while learning how the frameworks protect both service users and practitioners.

The workshop intends to apply ethical theories and frameworks to real-world decision making, exploring personal values and beliefs, and addressing dilemmas that arise in daily pharmacy practice, including issues encountered in non-governmental organizations and within professional relationships. It also offers opportunities for peer learning and professional development. Through interactive case studies and a panel Q&A discussion, participants will gain practical strategies to resolve ethical dilemmas, and ensure compliant, patient-centered care.
