Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise the daily operation of the pharmacy in an efficient and effective manner and ensure compliance to the legal requirements and code of practice. -
Be responsible for supervising, coordinating with and supporting pharmacy staff in drug inventory control and management in the pharmacy, including stock taking, drug storage, procurement and replenishment. -
Provide professional advice on medications selection for the Drug Formulary Committee (or related team/ manager) and assist in formulating drug pricing strategy and maintaining updated prices in the computer system. -
Be responsible for handling inspection, licensing, investigations, pharmaceuticals registration and other related duties in respect of medicines. |
Dispensing and distribution of medications | -
Screen prescriptions to ensure medications are safe for patients. -
Process, dispense and document prescriptions in accordance with legal requirements and provide accurate and timely distribution of medication. -
Provide counselling on the use of medication and relevant drug knowledge and information including the reason for prescribing, side effects, warning signs, storage and suggested lifestyle changes. -
Supervise drug distribution activities to ensure clinical appropriateness and accuracy of individual patient’s drug treatment. |
Management of minor ailments | -
Support minor ailment management by assessing individuals’ condition, provision of personalized advice on lifestyle changes and medication usage, followed by medication supply and appropriate signposting to services provided by other health professionals and social organization. |
Medication management service | -
Perform medication reconciliation, medication review, teleconsultations to patients with chronic diseases and their caregivers. -
Assess and review patients’ ability to manage their diseases and medications and provide personalized recommendations on medicine use and lifestyle changes. Arrange follow-up and referrals to other healthcare disciplines if needed. -

Plan, implement and maintain procedures for mixing, packaging and labelling pharmaceuticals according to policy and legal requirements to ensure quality, security and proper disposal. -
